Hi @julie

Why can’t I use a website or single link to distribute the POAPs to my community? It is not feasible to send 100 links to 100 different users and we won’t have a live event to use the QR dispenser. We would like to share a single link/website so that everyone in our Discord can claim it.

Thanks Julie. In that case since websites are ok for digital events, can I host a community meeting (digitally/virtually) and use a website to distribute it? Because that will be easier for us.

And if the answer is yes, how do I resubmit my request to make a website?

We understand you’re willing to take the risk, but POAP is a curated ecosystem. As a Curated ecosystem, we take care that the POAPs are only received by the people who participate on the events, and not farmers --people who are only after free NFTs.

POAP Websites are appropriate for small-ish events, in real life, with short-ish mint windows. Usage outside this framework (particularly in virtual environments) will tend to result in farming, since the website link is sharable with non-participants.

As Julie mentions, for Discord events you can use:

  • Guild

  • POAP Secret: Secrets are used to distribute POAPs through the use of an issuer-selected word or phrase that collectors use to claim a POAP via the POAP app (iOS/Android ). Secrets are one of the more versatile distribution methods. Common use cases are digital meetups like Twitter Spaces or Discord stages.
