  1. Drop ID
    Event #50258, Delivery #2644

  2. Community information
    Website: https://www.nepavrpro.com/

  3. Nature of the event
We are running our pro series, which is a professional eSports season for Echo Arena, a VR game built on the Meta Platform. Each week we have been issuing POAPs for people who show up to live broadcasts as a commemorative collectible.

  4. Distribution plan
POAP Delivery. We have been doing this for a handful of weeks, already.

  5. Why do you believe this petition is being held?
Not sure. We have already been doing this for a month and this is the first week that it’s been held up in review. The drop was approved, but the Delivery is held up and hasn’t been created.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Hey @NUHusky5
We’re happy to check on the status of your petition.

We’re taking a look now and will get back to you as soon as possible — we appreciate your patience

Hello @NUHusky5

Unfortunately, your drop request has been reviewed with negative results.

POAPs are meant to bookmark life’s remarkable moments. Your past events were heavily farmed.
Farming means your POAPs were minted by collectors who do not truly engage with the communities they mint POAPs from. They try to redeem as many POAPs as possible, in the hopes the will be able to extract value from it in the future.

Please let us know if you have any comments, questions or queries.

For future events, we recommend using secret word as your distribution method. Please try to use this method for your next drop. Here is how you would set that up: How Do I Set Up a POAP Secret? | POAP Help Center

  • Do not announce the POAP, prior to the AMA.
  • Use a random Secret; don’t use a word that is in the title of your drop.
  • Claim should only be open for a maximum of 15-30 minutes & should be closed after your event ends.
  • Only say the word verbally (don’t share it by DM or elsewhere online).
*Tips: Try to use 1 capital letter & 1 number if possible.

Hello Julie,

Thank you for the feedback, but the process we use to create our Delivery list is to have attendees of the broadcast fill out a Google Form. On this form there is a space for a secret password that we give out during the live broadcast.

So, in order for anyone to have an address submitted they needed to attend the broadcast and submit the form WITH a secret password.

Can you please provide more info about the “farming” issues you claim we have? I don’t see how this can be a real issue seeing as we are using a primarily manual process to collect attendees’ addresses and then we are submitting them ourselves.

Thank You,

Hello @julie!

Any insight/recommendations into this?

Thank You!

Hello! @NUHusky5

Thank you for the context about the manual process that is being used to both verify attendance and collect wallet addresses for the delivery petition.

Event #50258 was negatively reviewed by the Curators.

It may be that even though you are meticulous in your process of verifying attendance and collection of the wallet addresses that a bad actor or farmer account was among those collected addresses.

This does not mean that the entire drop was farmed.

Going forward the Curation Team suggested creating a secret word petition for future events.

If you have time, you may review the new POAP Issuer Guidelines that we just launched last week. You can read it by going here → https://curation.poap.xyz

We’re also opening a discussion for feedback from issuers to help us improve the approval process and guidelines. If you would want to help with that, you may add your comment here → https://discourse.poap.xyz/t/poap-issuer-guidelines
