Nature of the event: ART or DAI is a weekly metaverse art battle set up in Decentraland at coordinates 38,103, attendees receive a POAP for voting on one or the other artists’ work, and can only receive one POAP. Images of the event are attached. Video of the first event is forthcoming.
Distribution Method ( Mint-links, Secret, Delivery ): We have built a custom 3D model POAP booth which we place in the scene only during our Discord show on Token Smart called Artist Hour at 6PM EST.
Why do you believe this petition is being held?: I do not know.
Sorry for the delay. There’s an issue with this use-case as we don’t see a plan to prevent farming (farmers are people or bots that are only after free NFTs).
We noticed that in the last battle multiple collectors have both POAP (when they should only have been able to collect one).
Each POAP is a gift from an issuer to collectors, in celebration of a special shared memory. POAP issuers are expected to be responsible for the way they distribute POAPs to community members. Issuers should only give POAPs to the people who actually participated in the event being commemorated.
Please have a look at POAP Quality Guidelines and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you @Fio. Since we are in early testing stages we have isolated the problem in both our code and the Decentraland SDK code to prevent token farming. Our last event #40605 has been analyzed for token farming, and we do not see any evidence of this in our current analysis, additionally we have video of the event in Decentraland that shows our community coming out with similar numbers of active participants in our Discord event as there were tokens minted during the event.
Please understand this project is in beta as we are coming up with novel ways to prevent abusive activity.
If you will please be directed to our current petition you will see a detailed plan to prevent the above mentioned activities. If you would like to take a look at our typescript code that we use in the Decentraland SDK we are able to offer that to you in a secure forum. Additionally we have found a method to examine the CSV files to blacklist using the DCL SDK code in the scene.json file.
Since Decentraland is new technology, we assume the curation body understands the difficulty and novel approaches we are taking to prevent token farming, and that we are working to prevent these activities as we continue to work with our developers.
In that case, as it’s in early testing stages, we recommend limiting the amount of POAPs to the first X number, where X is something reasonable (for instance 50 POAPs each).
