[#35252] [03.25.22] [Mint links]

  1. Drop ID

  2. Community information
    Connext Twitter: https://twitter.com/ConnextNetwork
    Connext Discord: Connext

  3. Nature of the event
Celebrating our first community event where we give out OG roles to users who participate. POAP and Discord role should serve as a marker of participation and for future events and giveaways.

  4. Distribution plan
7500 Mint Links was selected but we realize it doesn’t look possible. We would like help and guidance as to which method is the best for distribution. I think Delivery via a whitelist could work, but given the size of the drop we’d need to know if it can be approved before we go around asking our users for their addresses. Definitely accepting comment/criticism around this as we’re inexperienced in POAP drops.

  5. Why do you believe this petition is being held?
Size and distribution plan. We know it’s a big amount so we would very much appreciate any help we can get around this.

 @TommyR8

We will have some recommendations for you shortly :white_check_mark: : )

How are you collecting addresses? Where is the call being held?

In the interim, please review → these resources will be extremely helpful with future drop requests.

Hey @tommyR8

7,5K is definitely a large drop. We recommend starting with a smaller petition and submitting a top-up later if you need more POAPs

Submitting petitions and distributing POAPs seems easy, but conducting quality drops requires issuers to deeply understand both the POAP protocol and their community.

Before expanding to larger and/or more ambitious distributions, first-time issuers should build up experience by starting with small, low-key events. A good practice before submitting a petition is to familiarize yourself with the various distribution methods and read the POAP quality guidelines.

Let us know if you have any questions!

The POAP Curation Body

Thanks @frankie and @Fio for your answers.

I checked the resources but the number limitations of the methods are a bit ambiguous. Nevertheless, thank you for sharing.

Should we make a new submission with a different distribution method (and smaller amount) and start from scratch?

How did you or how are you verifying participation?

What is the vote event? ( Snapshot?) Can you add more information to your description?
Tip: Anyone reading your POAPs description should understand it’s significance.

Our recommendations & final review will depend on this information.

Vote wasn’t on chain but had to be signed with a Keplr wallet and be logged in with Discord. It was an RFP on Bridges on the Osmosis forums (link is dead since it ended btw). It was the first community event we held and we gave OG roles on Discord and planned to distribute a POAP for future events and giveaways.
Users sent screenshots and the whole mod team manually verified everyone. To be honest we didn’t expect such a high level of participation.

While celebrating your 1st community event is remarkable, a random drop of 7,500 Mint-links is not the intended purpose of POAP.

POAPs are meant to be bookmark’s of life’s remarkable events.
If POAPs are handed out for just being a part of a discord server, they would have no value.

For future drop requests, please strengthen the criteria to determine who is eligible for your POAP.
Issuer’s should only distribute POAPs for truly meaningful engagement.

While we may have approved similar requests in the past, we are currently
creating a policy document that will outline how we make these decisions in fine detail.
The goal is to be as transparent & open as possible by publishing more visible standards.

We (as The CurationBody), maintain the protocol through a quality controlled Curation process .
POAP is not just a tool to Mint free NFTs from.

The process is not perfect & we aren’t error free. We believe the Human factor behind Curation allows us to offer needed interpersonal consideration through a diversely minded team.

We welcome you to submit more drops in the future & look forward to reviewing them.

All the best,
The POAP Curation Body
